Transitioning service members have historically been a great source of well qualified applicants for the U.S. Border Patrol. Every year over 180,000 officers and enlisted personnel transition from military to civilian life. Sadly, up to 60% of transitioning military remain unemployed years after leaving the military.
We recognize that each service member brings with them a wealth of training and experience that has a direct application to everyday operations within the Patrol. This makes the transition from the military to federal law enforcement so ideal. Members of the military already have an understanding of the command structure, they’re used to the regimen and they know what it means to wear a uniform.
With a presidential mandate to hire more than 6,000 new Patrol Agents, there has never been such a demand or better opportunity to join our ranks. Good pay, stable employment, government benefits, and a choice as to where you work makes the decision to serve our country in this way an easy one.
